Fender Stratocaster – A brief history of the Stratocaster guitar amazing
The Stratocaster was designed by Leo Fender, George Fullerton and Freddie Tavares in 1954 in response to the needs of guitarists working at the time. Fender goal was to design the greatest electric guitar ever made and has incorporated several new designs to the Stratocaster guitar.
The most important design features was a new Contoured body style that Fender has called the “Comfort Contour Body”. The back of the guitar is contoured to fit snugly and comfortably against the player instead of the hard disk, square edge found on the body Fender Telecaster.
The front of the guitar was profiled to allow your arms to rest comfortably on the guitar while playing. The body also presented two plans to cut near the neck to allow access easily the highest frets, and reduce the weight of the guitar.
The Stratocaster sunburst finish came in a 2-color on a solid body, contoured ash maple neck with a room with 21 frets, a black dot inlays, Kluson Deluxe tuners and guitar featuring a tremolo bridge with “whammy bar”.
Later, Fender Stratocaster began offering bright colors in solids such as Daphne Blue, Surf Green, Fiesta Red, which were popular in the industry automobile at the time and gave the Stratocaster modern “cool” appeal.
The Stratocaster was the first solid body electric There are three single-coil pickups. Early models came with a microphone switch three-way to select either the neck, middle or bridge pickups. However, guitarists realized that you could jam the switch between positions simultaneously or select the neck and middle pickups, or middle and bridge pickups to mix the signals from two microphones and create new sounds. In response to
this, Fender created the selector five microphones tract that has been a standard feature since 1977.
Another feature new design was the monolayer “fall” pickguard which allowed all electronic devices such as microphones, selector, volume and tone controls to be mounted on a surface by the Stratocaster easier to mass produce, repair, and customize.
Leo Fender decided to design the best guitar ever made and nobody can deny it’s really one of the best guitars in the world. The results speak for themselves as the Stratocaster guitar is still one of the most popular guitars and commercially successful of all time. Its popularity continues to be fueled by countless guitarists who like the style, gameplay, and versatile tonal qualities of this guitar legend.
